What's For Lunch? (W/C 24/09)
This week is going to be fun, like I said yesterday we're trying to use up all the bits and pieces that we have in the Freezer and cupboards and so it's a good old clear out! I got given a Filofax to play with and I've been using it to make notes of what lunches the children can have and ideas of things they could have for Friday Lunches as well as keeping a note of Big Boy's blood sugar levels after different foods so that I can make sure he stays stable through the day at School.
We have Chicken bagels today, Big Boy really loves them and Top Ender didn't get a chance to eat her ham one last week after she was only given FIVE MINUTES to eat her lunch! As you can guess I wasn't too happy and did kind of BLOW UP about it as soon as I knew. Luckily Top Ender's teacher had part of it in hand and a strongly worded letter handed to the new Head Teacher the next morning had things slightly better the next day but it's not stopping me from stirring up a revolution in the parents lol.
We have little pitta breads (or is it pita breads?) in the freezer and we love how we can fill them up with different fillings and as they are small you can have more than one kind of filling too! I'm going to have a cheese one, a ham one and a boiled egg one, so hopefully both Big Boy and Top Ender will have at least one that they will like.
It's the last of the second batch of Frittata and I won't be making any more for a while as the children need a "break" from it. Actually I need a break from it and I want to make other egg based dishes for lunch and I can't if they keep having Frittata! Still it's been handy having one lunch a week ready made.
Huh? Ham Sandwiches? No, special extras? Just plain ham sandwiches? You'll have to watch the Facebook page on Thursday to see what the twist will be.
This Friday I have a great idea planned, but I'm not sure it will be as great as I'm hoping... It was supposed to be a meal a couple of weeks ago but I didn't get enough time so I'm hoping that it works out well this week!
So what would you like for lunch this week?
