ilumi Meal Review
One of the great thing about greater awareness of food allergies is that more and more food brands are making sure that they are catering for all different diets. One of the downsides to this is that sometimes, because they are trying to cater to a wide market the food is sometimes a little... bland. Luckily Daddy and I are fairly decent home cooks, we're not going to win awards but we know what we like and we like to experiment and can normally knock up something that is nice to eat. The down side to this is sometimes we really do just want a meal you can shove in the microwave and not all ready meals are safe for specific diets, or rather we're not sure that they are safe.
Then ilumi asked if I'd like to review a few of their dishes, they are not only gluten free (so perfect for Daddy) but they are nut and milk free too so I said yes and knew that Daddy would be happy. Nothing makes Daddy happy like tasty food. Daddy has so far tried the Chicken Cacciatora and Slow Cooked Lamb Casserole at work, and was very taken with both dishes (his favourite was the Lamb though) because not only did they not need to be refrigerated, but they looked tasty too.
We were sent the products to review.

To put it simply the meals are a really high quality ready meal, which have the added benefit of being gluten, nut and milk free. Looking around the website, not only is each meal clearly labelled with what is in it but they allow you to further specify if you'd like Vegetarian or Vegan dishes and you can type in ingredients you don't want to include too (tomatoes or chilli powder for example).
The products have a brilliant shelf life of a year from when made, and the company try to ensure that all meals sent out in orders have a shelf life of at least four months and so I think this makes them a good store cupboard staple for the nights when you really can't be bothered to do more than throw something in the microwave!
