What We Are Eating This Week W/C 28 November
It's Friday night. Big Boy is laying on the sofa softly groaning at his book (he doesn't want to put it in the fridge), Daddy is working out something on the main PC, I'm writing this and Top Ender is enjoying a Turkey and Tinsel weekend with her Guides troop.
I'm sad because I think I want to be on a Turkey and Tinsel weekend and exchange gifts!
This however is what we are eating this week.
Yet again we're having a zero carb meal to test out BB's current insulin levels. I figured we'd make Turkey Burgers as a bit of fun and they're tasty. We just won't serve them with buns!
Top Ender is back! Daddy has had to drive all over Milton Keynes in order to drop me off at Church, pick Top Ender up, drop Top Ender off at Church, pick Top Ender and I up from Church and of course take us home.
As Daddy normally cooks on a Sunday night we've made it simple and we're having Home Made Gluten Free Pizza.
It feels wrong having it on a Sunday however!
Top Ender has yet another inset day today, so we're disappearing off to the Cinema and when we get back (around the same time as BB finishes School but Daddy is picking him up just in case we are late) we're going to be putting up the Christmas decorations.
The plan had been we'd do them over the weekend, but we forgot that Top Ender was away all weekend, so we decided to do it tonight!
The point is, we won't be wanting to cook and put up decorations so we're going to do Home Made Tomato and Spicy Pumpkin Soup (in the slow cooker) and Toasted Cheese Sandwiches.
I made tonnes of Meatballs and they are just waiting to be eaten up. I figure if I make some lovely Meatballs subs, then we'll all be happy (well apart from Daddy!) and we can all add our own toppings. I personally like Mushrooms and Cheese with a little onion and the Children tend to just like Cheese!
I'm not sure where we'll be eating out, but we will be. Unless we decide to eat at home, in which case we won't be eating out...
So much sense so little time.
I really couldn't think of anything to make for Thursday this week. I wanted something either Fish based (but I've gone with fish based lunches instead) or something meat free again which is quick to make.
Beans on Toast fits the bill!
I'm cheating and doing a second zero carb meal this week. I figure that if we have had to make changes from Saturday we'll need tonight to check that the changes we made are the right changes.
Plus I really like Chicken Wings.
I make a really lush coleslaw, thanks to a brilliant friend who gave me her recipe when she moved to the other side of the world. The main reason she gave it to me was because it was coming up to a special Christmas Munch and Mingle at Church and all anybody wanted was her Coleslaw and so I asked her for the recipe!
Anyway, I adapted it a little for me and my tastes and it's always a big hit at parties!
I'm also thinking of making a Cauliflower Potato Salad. It's low carb you see and so BB could have a small amount of it and it would still be okay for doing a zero carb meal for him... We'll see how I feel come Friday.
Of course we're also going to serve the wings with Salad.
So what are you eating this week?
