What We Are Eating W/C 20th February 2016
The last full week of eating Fish every night, and I'm really quite excited. We have some lovely meals this week, some which I am looking forward to, some which Daddy isn't looking forward to and some that I'm scared about making!
This month has been a HUGE learning curve for me with regards to preparing and cooking fish, but I've loved it and I think the Children have too.
Daddy has requested that he not eat the Black Pudding tonight, and I'll only serve the Children a half slice each as I think they might find the taste a little too strong for them...
However, I will love the Black Pudding and will eat it happily!
I'm pretty certain that this is a Hairy Bikers Recipe, it was passed to me by a friend who had photocopied it out of a magazine maybe four years ago? It's been sitting with my recipe books since and this is it's first outing!
NEWSFLASH I found it! It was in Woman Magazine back in 2012.
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are always a favourite. I might try and use some different cheese other than Cheddar this week.
Then again, maybe not and I'll just make my Millionaire's Spinach, Tomato and Philadelphia sandwiches again.
I'm going to make Mackerel Pate for the Children's lunch, they can eat it with Crudites and of course I'll top it up with a little more carb - maybe some soft rolls or crackers.
A simple meal of beans on Toast.
Although I'll probably have spaghetti on toast.
I should have scheduled this one for a weekend, as Daddy makes batter way better than I do.
However we have it tonight.
I'm serving it with Egg Fried Rice and Prawn Crackers as I know I can cook both of those.
Thursday - Haddock Cooked Breakfast
I joked last week that I might make my Cheats breakfast instead of just having Kippers, but we are having it tonight instead.
The Children will love it because they love Poached Eggs, they love Haddock and they love Hash Browns too!
Friday - Lobster Bisque Soup
I had every intention of making this myself from Scratch. However, I have some canned stuff and that's what we're going to have along with toasted bread and some garlic mushrooms. I'll also do a wonderful pudding which is yet to be decided.
I mean what would you serve after Lobster Bisque Soup?!
So that's what we are eating this week. What about you?
