What We Are Eating This Week W/C 24th September 2016
I'm really looking forward to this week, not only do we have a Munch and Mingle tomorrow, but it's my Wedding Anniversary on Thursday. Flyfour and I will have been married for 15 years, which I think deserves some kind of recognition right?
I was trying to think what we could have today for our meal, and I suddenly decided that Steak was the only answer.
We do love a nice bit of steak here.
The children and I are going to hang out after Church today and share a meal with the rest of our congregation. Flyfour is of course invited, but I think he's going to hang out at home and possibly get some gaming time in whilst nobody is here to disturb him!
We were thinking about doing a roast in the evening, but I think that it will just be too much so instead I thought we would have Toastie Sandwiches (non colourful cheese this time!) and seeing as how I do the shopping, that makes me in charge and what I say goes!
The children really like Toad in the Hole, with baked beans. I'm personally a fan of vegetables over beans, but I've decided to join them this evening because I'll make my super baked beans which have different types of beans in and are a little bit more tomato-y rather than orange!
When I made the Salmon Pasta last week we had a tonne left. So we're going to have it tonight with a Parsley sauce to make it slightly different.
Jacket Potato's are a staple in our house during Autumn and winter, they are warm and filling and tasty and can be topped with just about anything. Today I'm going to top them with the last of the Veggie burgers, and of course plenty of butter because you have to have butter on your Jacket Potato!
Flyfour and I are going to pop out during the day to have a meal. No doubt we'll end up at Nando's because it's a place where we are both happy, they serve Gluten Free food and the price is reasonable too.
Anyway, I know that this means Thursday evening we're going to be stuffed so I'm planning on Flyfour and I snacking on little bits... maybe some Fried Squid rings if I can get Flyfour to make them, with something like Onion Rings or Mozarella Sticks.
The children however will be starving, so I thought as a little celebration they could have a favourite meal too... which turned out to be McDonalds.
I really fancied spaghetti, but didn't want meatballs or bolognese. I thought a quick carbonara would be perfect!
If the children are super lucky I might even make them some doughballs to start the meal off with too. Who am I kidding, of course I'll make them!
Flyfour might be home late (then again he might not!) so we'll play it be ear on what he gets to eat!
Well that's what we are eating, how about you?
