What We Are Eating W/C 22nd October 2016
IT'S HALF TERM!
Sorry. I got a little excited there. Well, we're eating on a budget this week because we're saving up to pay for all the fun things we want to do, but we're not stopping us from eating things that we fancy, things that we like and things that we're trying!
Dan Jon Jr is getting baptised today and so he was allowed to pick what we had for our evening meal. He decided that out of everything available to him (including restaurants and take away etc) that what he wanted the most was Sausages with Mash and Gravy.
So that's what we're having.
We're having a proper roast today, I think we'll have Chicken because I had had a request for Sausages, but with having them last night I didn't think we wanted them again today!
I'm always thinking that Cauliflower Cheese would be a great main meal, but I doubt that the rest of the family think the same way as me... so I'm adding ins some Broccoli and serving it tonight with some crusty bread and possibly some boiled potatoes depending on how I'm feeling!
I've fancied Fish Fingers since seeing an advert during the week, so have decided that is what we shall have tonight. I'm thinking that we'll follow it up with a fruit salad for pudding, but I'm not sure... it might actually end up being something like Bananas and Custard instead!
I've been craving duck since talking with a friend and her daughter last Thursday. So we're having it tonight.
I've decided to do Pulled Duck in rolls along with some lush sauce (BBQ for Dan Jon Jr and plum sauce for the rest of us), some spring onions and of course cucumber.
I'll serve it with Prawn Crackers because it'll please the children. Okay, it'll please me!
The Children and Flyfour are going to hate me, but I don't care I want Poached eggs with Beans on toast. Flyfour won't have a poached egg (seeing as how he is intolerant to eggs) so I'll let him have some bacon or cheese on top of his because I'm kind... and evil.
Flyfour has today off, so I'm going to make the most of having him at home and get him to make some lush Battered fish for us all because he is wicked at doing it!
So there you go, that is what we are eating this week!
