Weekend Meals and Family Time 27-28th April
This is a little late, as yesterday I was super busy doing something super important and when I got home, after almost twelve hours of super intense importance I may have thrown up and gone to bed feeling sorry for myself. I think it was just a case of stress/relief that it was over rather than actually being ill, but a good sleep had me feeling better and ready for the weekend.
For our family, the weekends are a chance for us all to relax, to hang out together and reconnect and the activities we partake in and the food we eat during this time normally reflects that. It's family meals, I guess what most of us would think of as comfort food and of course some new favourites, which I think the children will think of as comfort food in the future.
This weekend we're having;
Saturday Lunch - Pizza and Popcorn
Saturday Evening Meal - Tacos with Nacho Salad
We were asked to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which we were very happy to do and Dan Jon invited a few friends round to join us and Top Ender asked a friend if he'd like to join us too (a bunch of eleven-year-olds may not have been his scene!) and it was a GREAT film, seriously we all loved it.
Then this afternoon we had the Sister Missionaries come and visit and share a meal, they are adorable and I wish they could stay here forever as their energy is so infectious!
Sunday Lunch - Chicken Curry with Naan Breads
Sunday Evening Meal - Unsure... something!
At some point Sunday, we will have a family game or two, but our real family time will be at my Mums house where we are helping her with a little gardening and visiting with her. Hopefully, we'll be so tired by the time we get home, we'll all just want our beds and won't worry about what it is we're supposed to be eating and Marmite on Toast will suffice!
Oh and I forgot to say, the children have been told that they are being expected to cook with us Adults on the weekend, to increase the amount of time we spend together and to increase their cooking skills too... Looks like they have got away with it this Weekend!
