I Don't Believe In Coincidences
I don't believe in coincidences.
I mean, don't get me wrong I believe that sometimes there are things that happen, that you may call coincidences, but for me. Well, for me, something that seems like a coincidence is more like a sign or God pointing out to me the path I need to be going down. Like the time I found a Frozen costume in my size in Asda for a reduced price and it was the only one.

Like the time I found a Frozen costume in my size in Asda for a reduced price and it was the only one.
Coincidence or perfect for me?
Take this week for example. On Sunday evening, I found an article where people were sharing advice that had worked for them. Some were things that everyone knows like rolling the McDonald's ketchup cups to be wider and some were things that were meant for me to read.
The one that really stuck out to me, was a person who said that they had trouble losing weight. They decided that for three weeks they'd be "good". They would eat their three meals a day. They would exercise. They would drink just water and occasionally fruit tea. After three weeks they'd lost 10lbs and went on to lose a further 100lbs.
I need to lose 100lbs.
So I decided to try for three weeks too. Telling just one person in the office about my plan, not telling my husband or children or even broadcasting it on social media. I just wanted to try. To see if I lost weight, to see if I could do it because losing weight is hard and I've tried so hard over the years and it's never stuck.
And then the next day a work friend mentioned how she needed to lose some weight and really needed to get back to exercising properly to do that and I sort of ended up challenging her to run a total of five miles or 8km that week and she accepted and threw the challenge right back at me and well, you know me.
I can't not accept a challenge, I'm a little bit competitive.
Yes, I accepted. With the caveat that I was going to walk not run and as we only had five days to do it, I decided I'd walk to work the next day and home, which I did. Despite the forecast for rain. I went for a walk in the evening with Flyfour and Top Ender and recorded my commutes and our family walk on an app that I knew my work friend used (thanks Facebook!) and happily completed just over half of my challenge in one day.
It's not a coincidence, I'm on the right path.
