What We're Eating W/C 14th March 2020
Is it just me who has found this last week to be super busy? Although saying that I was talking with a friend at work the other day and she asked when I planned to sleep, because of all the extra-curricular activities that I do! Well, with Church meetings being cancelled for a period of time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I guess I'll have a few hours of travel time each week back so maybe I can use that to wrestle through the shops attempting to buy some pasta or kitchen cleaner!
Well, here is what we are eating this week.
We've changed our way of doing things recently, I'll write a blog post about that soon, but each Saturday, Top Ender and Flyfour are going to make something for the family to eat together. This week it is the turn of Bacon and Cheese puff wrap things.
Flyfour and I really wanted green beans! We were excited to have some Salmon (as we didn't have it last night) and figured we'd have it tonight whilst watching Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Take Away and trying not to cry at all the brilliant people they reward each week. Seriously, I sob far too much for such a fun show.
I asked the children for suggestions, and Dan Jon came up with this. He said it had been a while since we had had Pork Chops, that everyone likes it and that he was sure that we'd be able to get Pork Chops at the Supermarket. Turns out he was very correct on that!
As we eat a bigger meal at lunch, we have a lighter evening meal. Tonight we're having Toasted Sandwiches.
Quick, easy and it's also nutritious!
We had this a few nights ago, almost by accident and it was soooo nice that I had it for lunch at work one night and Top Ender even took it with her to Brownies for a quick meal whilst we were out. So we're doing it again tonight, as everyone is home.
I'm off to the hospital this afternoon, so the children are going to be fabulous and fend for themselves. Hopefully, this means they'll use something from the freezer or have noodles or cereal, but to be honest with these two I never know. They may even go to the local shop and buy a tonne of sweets to see them through!
This almost started a huge family argument but I'm putting my foot down and we will have Fish Pie, it will be awesome and those who eat it will eat it without complaining or can do the blinking meal planning, preparing meals and the like themselves!
So I'm not sure what we are going to eat. It may be that we go with something from the freezer or the cupboard or that we go and get something from the Supermarket, or even that we fall into a drive-thru as we leave visiting my Mums. Whatever we do, we know that we'll have something to eat and be happy about it, so that's all that matters really, isn't it?!
So that's what we are eating this week. How about you?
