What We Are Eating W/C 29th August 2020
Today is the start of the "last" day of my summer holidays. I go back to work this Thursday, and this time will see all my friends. I honestly can't wait, as I've been missing them during the lockdown and summer holidays and can't wait to catch each other up on all our gossip and news!
I'm after making sure that these last few days are special. I want to do all the things I promised myself, finish off my projects, catch up on TV shows and just... you know enjoy the time, which basically means a few celebratory meals this week!
Saturday - Come Dine With Me
Tonight is Flyfour's night. He is doing...well I don't know! I think he is doing Steak, as he has been teasing the children but he also admitted to Top Ender that he had no clue what he was doing for any meal and I'm getting worried for next week now!
Sunday - Chicken Potato Stacks
This is Flyfour's favourite meal to cook, sliced potatoes stacked with Chicken thighs on the top and the potato cooks in the juices of the chicken. I'm sure there are other ingredients but I don't cook it so I don't know!
Monday - Afternoon Tea
When we did this the other week, it was so much fun. We sat in our kitchen at the butcher's block table and just chatted and shared food together and it was great, it really was. So I want to repeat it. Well, the meal at least, who knows if we're going to chat together as easily as we did last time!
Plus Flyfour WON'T forget to make Scones again this time.
Tuesday - Last Summer Hurrah
As a family, we tend to go out for one last meal together at the end of the summer holidays and as Flyfour was working from home today, we knew that today would be a great day to have that meal. We're eating late, but that's part of the fun I think!
Wednesday - Something Special!
It's my last meal, sigh. I'm only joking. I just want to make it something that we'll remember... so I'll have to work that out before Wednesday.
Thursday - Sausages and Mash
We're having Sausages and Mash today as it is Top Ender's first day at her new sixth form and it'll be a case of comfort food to help her to mentally unwind and give us all an opportunity to relax and chat together. Oh, and there will be gravy.
Friday - Spaghetti and Salmon Pesto
This one is for me and I'll make it up to the rest of the family with my meal tomorrow or possibly some dessert today!
So that's what we are eating this week, how about you?
