What We Are Eating W/C 8th August 2020
I've been feeling super organised recently, I've managed to get some blog posts out of my head and into writing (you can see that by looking over the most recent posts!), I've managed to get my podcast launched (Yay!) and even been reading, crafting and creating at home. I'm back to work for a few days this week, but excited because I've kinda missed it!
Here's what we are eating this week.
Saturday - Chicken Kebab
I've been thinking about having a kebab for ages, but they never taste as good as you want them to, so I thought that if I made one, that it might taste way better than one we purchased and it would have the benefit of meaning the whole family could sit around our kitchen table and eat together.
A girl can dream eh?
Sunday - Sticky Sausage Roast
I know that Flyfour likes cooking at the weekends, so as I stole one of his spots yesterday, I thought that he'd like to make the Sticky Sausage Roast today, as it involves some of his favourite ingredients, mainly Bacon, Apples, Honey and Sausages!
I just hope he makes extra mash because the whole family love mash and never feel there is enough!
Monday - Fish Pie
The family hate fish pie with a passion. I love fish pie with a greater passion. I also love our family and want them to get good fish oils and to eat food that is good for them and their brains etc.
mPlus right, if they don't like it surely they will eat less which means they are having a smaller portion which has got to be good for their waistline right?! See making fish pie is me showing my caring nature not my selfish side!
Tuesday - Burgers and Wedges
I'm going to go with a mushroom and halloumi burger, but I have a feeling the rest of the family will go for beef burgers and bacon with American cheese because, well because they don't like mushrooms and halloumi burgers!
Wednesday - Veggie Spaghetti
I was trying to think about a meal that we could have that was veggie and that everyone would eat. I thought about Jacket Potatoes but decided that after yesterdays wedges they might be too much. I thought about Pizza but didn't want to have to deal with Dan Jon having a carb overload or Tops having a dairy overload. So I decided veggies and spaghetti was the only way to go.
Thursday - Salmon with Rosemary Roast Potatoes
A week today, Top Ender gets her results for her GCSE's, so I'm practising cooking something special to celebrate. Although we'll probably eat out or have a take away to celebrate next week!
Still, I'm not fussed because tonight we get to eat Salmon and Roast Potatoes which have been cooked with my own homegrown rosemary.
Friday - Broccolli and Cauliflower Cheese with Bacon
Again, I was trying to think of a great meal that our whole family would enjoy and decided that Broccolli and Cauliflower cheese with some bacon bits thrown in would be fabulous and cheap and quick and just what I'd want after a day at work.
So what are you eating this next week?
